WW1 The Literary Digest 1914 Dated War Map of Europe

This is a very nice original example of a WW1 War Map of Europe, published by The Literary Digest of New York. This map has a copyright date of 1914, making it a very nice map of the early stages of WW1. The map itself is in very good condition for its age, with some small holes present at the intersections of folds, and with a small tear or two following the creases of the folds on the sides of the maps. This map shows the borders of the countries in red, shows fortified towns with red dots, shows military bases, and the main railroad lines which were essential for transporting troops and supplies. There look to be a few lead markings on some of the lines and dots, possibly done by someone keeping up with the news on the radio. This map is overall in really good shape for its age, and would frame very nicely. The original map sleeve is also present, having more wear to it with some small bends and tears, as well as a name which was originally on the front which has since been erased off. The map measures about 31 1/4 x 27 1/2 inches. The sleeve which holds this map is about 5 x 8 inches. Overall, this is a very nice historical piece.
