This is a beautiful wood block print by Japanese artist Ido Masao, titled: "Ouan-Ji Temple Approach." This piece is in excellent condition, dated to 1991, and is number 1 of 180. Ido was born in 1945 and passed away in 2016, with his name well known as a leading Japanese contemporary artist. He began working on silk and other fabrics before being inspired by other wood block prints, and finding his passion for them. He found inspiration around Kyoto and especially favored serene landscapes and traditional scenes of architecture and temples. This piece measures approximately 18 x 13 inches. Overall, this is an excellent piece by a great artist who is unfortunately no longer with us to continue producing his iconic art.
