John Marshall Mezzotint Engraving Hand Colored print by T. Hamilton Crawford

This is a nice Mezzotint engraving print of John Marshall, the Chief Justice of the United States from 1801-1835. These prints were hand colored by T. Hamilton Crawford with the original plates being destroyed, making these a very finite item as they weren't produced in large numbers, and have no way to be produced the same way again. This piece has a note for a copyright date of 1928, as well as a signature from Crawford. This print has been professionally framed with a very nice, multi-layered matting job for dimension, and a very nice frame chosen. The frame does show a little wear, though would be easily restored with some careful work. The glass is in excellent shape with no cracks or pocks. This piece measures approximately 26 3/4 x 22 1/2 inches overall.
