Antique Chinese Hibiscus Flowers Watercolor Painting Signed and Framed

Here is a very nice, antique Chinese painting of Hibiscus flowers. This piece is done with watercolors, using dark outlines for high contrast, legibility, and artistic flair. The colors flow freely, with many strokes of color slipping outside of the dark line borders. This piece is signed both with characters, and two different stampings of red ink. The medium is bordered with a blue, patterned silk, and completed with a bamboo mimicking frame. Condition of this piece is excellent, with the medium looking to have slightly darkened with age, with a couple of small toning spots present as well. The frame itself is in good shape overall, with a few small markings and scruffs from wear. The backing of the frame has a tag for Galaxy Shoppe, with a name of the framer, as well as a framing or possible reframing date of 1979. The painting measures roughly 19 1/4 x 16 inches, with the frame measuring 22 3/4 x 19 1/2 inches. Overall, an excellent piece.
