Qing Dynasty 1874-1908 Iron Red Imperial Dragon Dish From Foochow China 1904 A stunning hand painted iron red Imperial Dragon dish, measures 6 3/4" diameter x 1 1/4" high, Guangxu mark. In excellent condition with no damage, brought back from Foochow China in 1904 by Evelyn Marsh, From the personal property of Ben H. Marsh, Acting President & Professor at Anglo-Chinese College Foochow China 1898-1904. Ben H. Marsh was a Methodist Episcopal Missionary appointed to Anglo-Chinese College in Foochow China in 1898, he married his wife Evelyn C. Pinkney in Foochow in 1900, they had 2 daughters that were born in Foochow. Mrs. Marsh was the Principal at the Foochow Graded school for children of foreign residents. Mr. Marsh died suddenly June 18th 1904 in Foochow and is buried there. Mrs. Marsh decided to return to America in July 1904. We recently acquired 6 large boxes of items that were brought back to the United States from Foochow China in 1904 by Evelyn C. Marsh. Items that we will be selling including books, photographs, documents, porcelain, art, jewelry, and more. The vast majority of items are from Foochow, given to or purchased by the Marsh's, there are a few Japanese porcelain items that were purchased by Mrs. Marsh when she traveled to Kobe Japan. Also some books and documents that were sent to Mrs. Marsh in the 1906-1930's range by friends in Foochow. .........See Images****
